Each person including citizens or immigrants is required to follow them under all circumstances. They are well stipulated and made available for any individual to read and understand them right. The government has banned smoking of all tobacco products in public areas. These areas include the ferry terminus, airports, within the towns and public venues. In case you intend to smoke, there are designated places where you can go and smoke without any restrictions. Also, one is not allowed to smoke in an area which is some fifty feet from a public place. Any individual who makes such an offense can be fined one thousand dollars.

It is well-known that marriage is a beautiful thing and people would wish to get married to a person they are in love with. The process requires a couple to acquire a marriage permit. This is made successful through an application for marriage with the attorney general. Then, a marriage certificate will be available for you within three working days which is valid for three months.

It is a requirement that every driver especially a tourist to acquire a temporal driving license. The permit is usually valid for three months after which you can renew it. The permit is provided by the vehicle licensing department. Also, one can get one from the car hire company, and you will be assured of your safety as you drive.

The persons willing to engage in fishing activities are expected to apply for a fishing license. It is provided by the marine and fisheries department which is responsible for controlling the activity. People are not allowed to undertake the activity along the island waters without the permit. The vessels used must be authorized and certified to be engaged in the activity.

Also, there are regulations on killing or harassing turtles or their eggs when not in season. This is mostly from April to November. Apart from that, it has been made illegal to use spears and any fishing gun in the British Virgin Islands. In case, one goes against the law, and there is a penalty of a maximum fine of fifteen thousand dollars.

Also, there is need to note that the BVI laws have stated that one should not get involved in illegal removal of sea sand, shells and other materials. In this case, there should be no pulling of fishing nets along the shoreline since it can lead to breaking, destroying, or injuring of live coral reefs which can deter their growth.

Lastly, people are expected to have licenses for private jetties, buoys, and other marine facilities. There is an annual fee applicable for all commercial and non-commercial facilities.
