The Only Moment You Truly Have Is Right Now

By Evan Sanders

Sometimes life can feel like you're stuck in concrete.

The past at times can be this horrible places that rips apart our ability to live in the present. When our past has been left to wreck havoc on our lives, we live in a an abundance of pain and fall victim to things that are now completely out of our control.

The biggest danger of an upsetting past is when you allow it to define who you are in this moment and who you will become in the future. When this happens, you have birthed a creature that can truly define the rest of your life.

So what can you do to move on from your past?

Repair it all. Repair everything that makes you cringe when you think about it. Will going back to the past be incredibly hard at times? Yes, of course. But going back into those events and situations where you didn't exactly handle yourself in the best ways can actually bring great peace to your life if you take responsibility for what you've done.

But there's something else about coming back to this moment that is even more important. The past can also be a place where we want to go back to because things seemed so much better back then. But that moment is gone. It's forever gone. The people who were in your life, the memories, the things you did are all behind you. You can really never go back. All you can do is create a new life for yourself now.

While it's hard to do this, the journey into the past to repair everything is worth it. It makes you a strong person to be able to admit your mistakes and defeats and take ownership for them. It makes you something greater than you've ever been before.

Take a chance. Take a risk. Be courageous and go back into the past in order to create a better future for yourself tomorrow.

This moment is all you have.
