Relationships go through times when there are problems are difficult to solve. It is not easy for the couple or the family to come to terms with what they are going through. It especially a problem in this day and age where many other issues come up. For example, more people suffer because of stress. They may be challenged in their job. A lot of children will struggle at school with various disorders. Teenagers go through phases. Some parents don't realize teens have further with addictions or depression.

There may be problems in the marriage early on as well as issues that arise later on when people are more mature. When the honeymoon stage is over, people will find that there are other things that come up from time to time. They will notice flaws in one another. They may begin to blame one another. It is important to deal with these underlying feelings because one finds that it contributes to the marriage or family. For example, people who have been sexually abused will have problems with intimacy. A person who has been physically abused, may have problems with anger.

Children may come up after a couple of years and this is tricky in the beginning as well. While it is exciting, a couple will also find that there are many issues that come up. The lifestyle will begin to change. They won't be able to spend as much time together as before. One needs to look into this. There are practical things to look at which will ensure that the couple spend quality time together.

Support is essential during this time, especially when it is one partner or member of the family who is struggling with something. It can be a disorder or a complication which effects the rest of the unit. It can go back to the childhood years when someone has been abused, and this will most likely affect the marriage.

Role play is just one example that can be set aside for the person who is struggling with this. Someone who is introverted or bottling something up will especially take advantage of this type of technique. Children will also need to get involved and be accounted for. Sometimes, this doesn't happen and they may feel neglected. It can happen when parents are on the verge of a divorce.

Parents can be so wound up in their own life and their situation that they forget about what is going on around them. A lot of anxiety and tension will build up. Kids will be aware of this. They are sensitive to what is happening around them. Parents shouldn't forget this because they will store this in their memories. It especially applies when parents are particularly hostile or when they turn to alcohol or another substance in an abusive manner.
