Steps On How To Apply For Canadian Residency

By Essie Osborn

If one is interested in migrating to Canada, then he would definitely need to have some requirements first before he can actually stay in that country. Now if one does not know where to start, then here are a few tips on how to apply for Canadian residency. One does not really need to worry too much because it is actually easy to apply here.

The first step in becoming a citizen of this country, he has to first get his hands on an application kit wherein he could get himself a Permanent Resident Card. If one is currently staying in the country like for a vacation or on business, then he may get one in the immigration office. If he is in another country, he may just download the kit.

Now after doing that, then he will find a few application forms to fill up. Now the kit will also include a list of some of the things he would have to submit along with the application form. Now some of the things that he would have to submit would be a photocopy of his passport, some travel documents and a picture.

Now after he has already filled up the forms that are found in the kit and gathered all of his documents, then he needs to pay a certain fee for the application. Now inside of the kit, he will find a payment form he has to attach his payment with. Once he has done that, then he may just pay via bank transaction.

The last step would be to finally mail the documents along with a copy of his passport and a receipt of the payments. Now one has to do this if he lives outside of Canada. If he is currently in the country for a few days, then he may just visit the immigration office of Canada and just submit the form right there.

One thing to take note of when being a citizen in this country is that there are some rules to follow. One has to make sure that he resides in the country for two years out of a five year period. Now he does not necessarily have to stay there for two years straight but he has to make sure that he accumulates a total of seven hundred and thirty days in those five years.

He also has to make sure that he does not do any crime otherwise he would be deported back to his original country. After that, he would already have a stained record in the Canada. Also, the next time that he would travel again, there is a big chance that he will not be allowed to enter.

Now if he observes all of those rules, then he does not need to worry. Upon approval of his application, he will be receiving his Permanent Residency Card. This card is his identity in Canada and he must show it every time he goes in.
